We are looking for an Area Production Manager at our McBee, SC facility.  This role is one of two Area Production Managers that is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the productivity of a manufacturing area within the plant (for this role, Tank Fabrication).  The Area Production Manager will direct plant production, development, and quality initiatives through management of equipment, materials, and the workforce.

  • Works closely with Plant Manager and other senior leadership to coordinate workflow across all departments to produce quality products in a safe and efficient manner
  • Manages the workflow and coordination of the manufacturing environment, including materials/equipment to meet production, quality, and cost goals
  • Plans/coordinates department production schedules, production rates and capacity plans, processing methods and times
  • Plans budgeting and approves expenditures for the required resources for production including equipment, materials, and workforce
  • Promotes a safety conscious manufacturing environment
  • Directs first-line supervisors in their reporting/scheduling activities and analyzes their reports/reviews
  • Leads communication of corrective action plans, resolutions, and quality results among the department
  • Acts as a mentor among production team members to create a professional and driven workforce
  • Assists in company/plant planning through department budget preparation, expenditure recommendations, and workforce/space forecasting
  • Reports issues regarding production, quality, maintenance, or personnel problems to the Director of Operations


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing, Management, Finance, or other related field
  • 5 years of manufacturing work experience
  • Supervisory/Leadership experience


  • Manufacturing experience with significant experience in management and supervision
  • Master’s Degree preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership in LEAN principles, metrics, and coaching
  • Ability to prepare and interpret various metrics and reports
  • Ability to identify problems and take appropriate corrective measures
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to communicate effectively with all levels within the plant
  • Six Sigma Black Belt a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Ability to prepare and make presentations to Senior Leadership
