Primary Function
Directs and coordinates shipping, inventory control, quality control and other warehouse processes according to established operating procedures by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.
Responsibilities
- Support our company values & principles and promote them in everyday work activities.
- Instruct assigned teams on safety and emergency procedures and ensure daily accountability of those procedures.
- Supports team supervisor and performs duties when absent.
- Provides encouragement to team members, including communication of team goals and identifying areas of needed training and skills checks.
- Provide daily work assignments to staff and work with managers and other supervisors to coordinate personnel and resources as necessary to complete all work scheduled for department.
- Understand quality procedures and requirements and ensuring daily accountability by the operators, within the manufacturing areas of responsibility.
- Coordinate, provide, document, and execute employee training and cross-training to ensure safety and work procedures are followed and meet quality requirements.
- Update and communicate plant functional manufacturing metrics using assigned Gemba board and facilitate daily team meeting.
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you work closely with cross functional areas.
- Continue to grow lean knowledge and use the tools to identify and assist with continuous improvement, including 5S and 8-Step Problem Solving methods to determine root cause of problems and implement corrective actions to proactively avoid repeat issues.
- Assist with the development, revision and enforcement of inventory management procedures and metrics including record keeping and SAP transactions, work instructions, ISO/quality procedures, CTPAT, and inventory warehouse and storage location accuracies.
- Assign available manpower to workstations based on cross training matrix.
- Monitor material movements in the inventory control system (SAP) and perform investigation and root cause analysis for inventory discrepancies.
- Oversee the receipt of purchased goods, verifying counts and quality, and coordination of material movements as it relates to put away, scrap removal and receiving.
- Inspect outbound freight for damages and to prevent damage from arriving to customer.
- Visually monitor inventory levels and communicate low levels to TM Planners, Load Planners, on site leadership, and make inventory adjustments when needed.
- Maintain a “tour ready” clean and safe work area.
- Help to attract and retain qualified and motivated workforce while fostering new ideas for improvements from other members of the team.
- Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications

- Minimum of three years of professionally related experience.
- In-depth understanding of AOS values and metrics.
- Ability to multi-task and strong time management skills.
- Demonstrate strong safety, productivity, performance, attendance, and adherence to company policies, procedures, and leadership standard work.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to ensure stable operations of the assigned functional areas.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to work with others collaboratively to include cross functional teams and internal teams.
- Ability to motivate others to meet production demands/schedule.
- Ability to communicate effectively through oral and written communication to include writing routine reports and updating metrics.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages and conversions and apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, bills of materials, drawings, and procedure manuals.
- Must be proficient with MS Office (i.e., Word, Excel) and operational systems/software (i.e., SAP, drawing portal)
- Demonstrated working knowledge of SAP.
- Lean manufacturing and/or continuous improvement experience.
- Experience with operating fork trucks
- Ability to manage operators to maximize safety, quality, efficiency, and output.
- Willingness to report disciplinary issues to Supervisor as required.
- Willingness to learn new tasks, cross-train, rotate and work as a part of a team.
- Ability to serve as a back-up for other team members to cover absenteeism, vacations, and mandatory rotations of responsibility.
- Ability to demonstrate strong investigative skills in SAP and inventory locations within the plant.
- Willingness to work overtime as required depending on business need.

- Prolonged periods of sitting/standing and frequent bending and reaching.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and with assistance
