*This role is eligible for a remote work schedule of up to two days remote work per week. New employees are eligible to apply after successfully completing their initial 90 days of employment and training.

Primary Function

Located at A. O. Smith World Headquarters in Milwaukee, WI, the Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis, Sr. Analyst is responsible for managing the corporate consolidated forecasting and planning processes as well as the annual budgeting process.  The Sr. Analyst will enhance and maintain the processes in the corporate forecasting and planning function, ensure consistent and accurate reporting and KPI tracking, and support analysis of financial forecasts and results.


  • Consolidate annual and monthly forecasts.
  • Compile and review annual corporate departmental budgets.
  • Prepare forecast and budget related reports for senior management.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely completion of the monthly forecasting process.
  • Prepare forecast for corporate headquarters and other non-operating entities.
  • Support capital forecasting process.
  • Compile and track KPI’s and internal metrics.
  • Ensure consistent, reliable, and timely information is distributed to all financial forecast users.
  • Support the preparation of senior leadership presentation materials.
  • BPC system administrator for planning software.
  • Develop and maintain various financial models to support forecast.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge and understanding of all accounting policies, financial systems, processes, and controls.
  • Continually evaluate the departmental functions, practices, and controls to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Lead and assist in analysis of special projects and performs ad-hoc requests as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
  • MBA or CPA preferred
  • Accounting experience preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of financial planning and analysis experience



  • SAP/BPC experience preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Strong analytical skills are required
  • Excellent communication skills, both orally and written, to explain difficult and financial concepts
  • Strong organization and time management skills with the ability to adapt work priorities
  • Demonstrate commitment to continuous improvement
  • Ability to work independently and lead a team to achieve performance goals
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and delegate tasks
