Primary Function

This role involves managing individuals in the Corporate Accounting department, overseeing and the preparation of SEC filings, internal reporting and other related materials. Additionally, the role participates in the preparation of the annual plan budgets for our Corporate and Group entities and assists in the build out of the consolidated planning documents. 

Responsibilities

 

Accounting and Reporting

  • Lead and manage a team of two responsible for monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities at the corporate level.
  • Own the corporate general ledger and ensure accuracy and integrity of all general accounting activities, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
  • Direct the preparation and review of consolidated financial statements and ensure the timely completion of the global consolidation process.
  • Supervise the preparation and filing of external financial reports, including 10-K, 11-K, 10-Q, and 8-K filings, ensuring compliance with SEC regulations and U.S. GAAP.
  • Coordinate internal financial reporting packages to provide executive leadership with timely and meaningful insights into company performance.
  • Assist in the preparation of the Board of Director materials.
  • Key contact for external audits includes providing requested information and addressing auditor inquiries.
  • Monitor new accounting pronouncements and assess their impact on financial statements; assist in implementing changes as needed. Includes memo preparation.
  • Collaborate with Tax, Treasury, and operational finance teams to ensure accuracy across financial reporting.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop team members to support their career growth and enhance overall team effectiveness.

FP&A Support:

  • Partner closely with the Director of Accounting to support corporate FP&A and Investor Relations activities.
  • Provide financial insights, historical trends, and variance analyses to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning processes.
  • For Corporate and Group, ensure alignment between actual financial results and forecasted performance, identifying key drivers of variances.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA certification strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 7+ years of progressive experience in accounting and financial reporting, including public accounting or public company experience.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, SEC reporting, and internal controls.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proven leadership and team management abilities.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and financial reporting software (Workiva).
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills

Education

Baccalaureate in Accounting or Finance
