SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:

Supervise approximately 70 hourly employees, including hourly 6 Team Leads and 3 Team Lead Assistants
Supervise and direct Leaders to efficiently meet production schedules through the use of available manpower.
Complete some Production Manager tasks when covering for absents.
Ensure team members are following standardized work instructions and adhering to quality expectations.
Interpret and enforce company policies and procedures to Leaders and Operators.
Partner with industrial engineers and supervisors to contribute to and maintain continuous improvement of the production line.
Analyze and resolve work problems or assist Leaders in solving work problems.
Responsible for product quality in accordance with established Company guidelines and / or specifications.
Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
Responsible for establishing a safe workplace through employee involvement.
Investigate all injuries; provide support on implementation of suggested corrective procedures.
Develop and promote positive relations with employees through effective communication of company policies and procedures.
Prepares verbal and written disciplinary notices and attends disciplinary hearings.
Attends selection interviews for certain strategic positions (e.g., operator, welder).
Validates employees' work time clocks daily.
Responsible for completion and utilization of all manufacturing forms and paperwork.
Responsible for following through on Maintenance issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Technical’s degree preferred.
  • Lean or continuous improvement experience a plus.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in production supervision.
  • Relevant experience in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Leadership skills, understanding of fundamental human resource principles and manufacturing processes, decision-making ability, and adherence to policies and procedures in a fast-paced production environment.
  • SAP or some other enterprise resource planning system experience highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills via written and oral.

Education

High School Diploma or GED
Baccalaureate in Manufacturing Engineering or Industrial Engineering
