Primary Function

Responsibilities

A.O. Smith Corporation (Nashville, TN) seeks to hire a Senior Software Developer.  The candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field or its equivalent, and five (5) years of software development experience, with a specific focus on the development of software systems and applications (cloud and/or in-house). The candidate must also have demonstrated knowledge of SAP ABAP and related SAP Process Areas (OTC, PTP, PTM, HTR, and RTR), as well as demonstrated knowledge of Root Cause Analysis, Problem Solving and Critical Thinking skills.

The specific job responsibilities of the position include: (i) design, develop, document, test, and debug new and existing software systems and/or applications (35%); (ii) serve as technical expert on development projects and participate in full development life cycle, including requirements analysis and design (30%); (iii) develop program logic for new applications and analyze logic in existing applications (15%); (iv) analyze requirements, maintain, test and integrate application components (10%); (v) maintain and upgrade SAP (ERP) modules (5%); and (vi) participate in software design meetings, analyze user needs and prototype, refine, test and debug programs to meet needs (5%).
