This role is located in our modern Nashville Metro Center office, located just minutes from downtown with easy interstate access and free parking.

Primary Function

We are looking for a senior API Developer/Engineer to build and maintain a suite of cross-platform apps & databases that interact with multiple APIs and external infrastructure.  This role is responsible for developing & optimizing proprietary features & functions to drive custom marketing & merchandising digital experiences for customers across multiple brands & divisions.  S/he must have the ability to develop solutions and work independently as well as collaboratively.

Role Specific Responsibilities

  • Leverage APIs for deep integrations and robust features across our platforms for web and mobile
  • Support, maintain, and refactor existing projects in Node.JS and SQL to integrate with proprietary and third party platforms (mobile apps, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Salesforce Service Cloud, etc) deployed on Redhat 3Scale & Azure DevOps
  • Develop and maintain our proprietary marketing technology infrastructure, documentation, and core codebase for APIs that power web & mobile experiences
  • Collaborate with front-end developers to support their initiatives to present custom experiences to the customer by calling your APIs
  • Collaborate with Digital Marketing Platforms, BTS (IT) & external partners to enhance existing functionality and create new-to-the-world functionality to deliver the right experience to the right audience for improved customer experience.
  • Identify and resolve errors, bugs and issues
  • Work with team to write acceptance criteria and solution documentation to ensure solutions meet business expectations.
  • Provide mentoring to team members on new technology and its application, coding best practices and general technology architecture. Provide valuable feedback on peers and evaluation of team performance. Identify potential team improvements and participate in team retrospectives.
  • Collaborates with other team members in an agile development process, spanning front end, back end, QA, and product management.
  • Craft and communicate technical plans with the Web Platform Manager, App Platform Manager, UI/UX designer, brand division stakeholders and IT stakeholders, when applicable.
  • Create technical documentation as required for vendors and team
  • Continue and maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, MIS, or related preferred
  • Candidates with equivalent years of related IT experience, certifications, and education also considered
  • Proven experience working with:
    • Native libraries
    • APIs
    • Third-party dependencies
    • Node.JS
    • React & React Native
