Primary Function
The Sr Enterprise Data Engineer will be responsible for keeping the SAP BODS system running smoothly and building and supporting data integration solutions. The incumbent is responsible for creating and managing our SAP data replication process using SLT, Data Services, & Information Steward. All activities will be in support of all data integration, data governance, data quality, and virtualization efforts.
Responsibilities
- Create & Manage SAP Landscape Transformation (SLT) data replication jobs.
- Create datasets, views and data extracts using ETL & virtualization platforms.
- Responsible for developing SAP BODS workflows/dataflows/mapping.
- Actively participate in requirements and design meetings for data integration, conversion, & migration initiatives.
- Data Profiling using SAP Information Steward for Data Cleansing and data governance.
- Create ETL jobs to move data between data systems.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for data integration processes.
- Monitor and optimize the performance of data integration processes.
- Provide round the clock Production support.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or relatable degree with IT Experience.
- Professional eqivalent experience and certifications can be substituted in lieu of a degree.
- 8+ years of experience in Information Technology disciplines.
- Deep understanding of relational databases, queries, & database programming.
- Knowledge and experience with:
- Data Quality & Analysis.
- Data migration, integration and management tools
- Data modeling and database design.
- Experience In SAP Information Steward, SAP BODS, SLT
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- In-depth understanding of database migration principles & experience with the migration of mission critical databases across multiple database platforms.
- Expertise in MSSQL, SSIS, and scripting languages.
- Familiarity with data virtualization tools (Denodo).
- Must have strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- Must demonstrate critical attention to detail and deadlines.
- Must be able to operate independently while establishing strong working relationships with co-workers.
