This role is located in our modern Nashville Metro Center office, located just minutes from downtown with easy interstate access and free parking
Primary Function
Design, develop, document, test, and debug new and existing software systems and/or applications (cloud and/or in-house). Serve as technical expert on development projects. Participate in full development life cycle including requirements analysis and design. Write technical specifications based on conceptual design and stated business requirements. Support, maintain, and document software functionality. Identify and evaluate new technologies for implementation. Career-Development position within field and receives moderate level of guidance.
Responsibilities
- Provides application software development services or technical support typically in a defined project.
- Develops program logic for new applications or analyzes and modifies logic in existing applications.
- Codes, tests, debugs, documents, implements software applications.
- Analyzes requirements, and maintains, tests and integrates application components.
- Ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented.
- Maintains and upgrades SAP (ERP) modules.
- Analyzes user requirements to determine ERP system configuration and customization.
- Provides ongoing ERP system support
- Builds knowledge of the organization, processes and customers.
- Analyzes possible solutions using standard procedures.
- Analyzes code to find causes of errors and revise programs as needed.
- Participates in software design meetings and analyze user needs to determine technical requirements.
- Consults with end user to prototype, refine, test, and debug programs to meet needs.
Role Specific Responsibilities
As the Software Developer you will be responsible for the EDI development. Therefore, the selected candidate must have extensive EDI experience in a manufacturing environment. This role requires strong time-management skills and a strong foundation and working knowledge of the X12 EDI transaction set across the business landscape including but not limited to those related to customer, vendor, transportation and banking transactions. This individual is expected to participate, by representing BTS, on projects teams as well as perform the necessary development tasks. The selected candidate will have frequent interaction and communication with AOS members at all levels of the organization as well as the AOS trading partner community therefore, a poised, professional communication style is necessary.
· Responsible for all phases of the development life cycle.
· Communicating the recommended changes and obtaining buy-in from the company member community, including the respective members of Management.
· Participating in activities associated with root cause investigation and corrective/preventive action implementation.
· Leveraging IT solutions to drive continuous improvement throughout the organization.
Qualifications
- Thorough understanding of X12 EDI Transaction sets; EDIFACT experience a plus.
- 5+ years EDI experience.
- Experience with EDI mapping review and analysis.
- Leadership experience preferred.
- SAP and IDoc experience preferred.
- Results-oriented project management skills. Must be comfortable taking ownership for the success of the BTS portion of projects. Must be able to produce and meet deliverables.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to interact effectively with peers, users in functional areas, and all levels of Management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with root cause investigation experience. Ability to interact with other functional areas to resolve issues and create improvements.
- Excellent time management skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and to meet deadlines.
