This role is located in our modern Nashville Metro Center office, located just minutes from downtown with easy interstate access and free parking.

Primary Function

The Supply Chain Leadership Development Program allows individuals to obtain in-depth experience and knowledge within the A.O. Smith Supply Chain organization. Duration of the program will be approximately 2 years, providing the candidate hands-on experience through rotations in key supply chain functions such as demand planning, strategic sourcing, supplier development, material planning, demand planning, distribution, transportation planning, and supply chain analytics.  Rotation opportunities may also exist in other areas outside of Supply Chain, which will further broaden the skill set of the individual.  Each rotation will last approximately 6-12 months depending on the role and skills needed to be acquired.  The individual will participate in a formal mentoring program with Supply Chain leaders and will report out to the leadership team at the end of each rotation.  Upon successful completion of the program, the individual will be able to transition into a permanent role within the A.O. Smith Supply Chain Group that best compliments their skills, career interests and business needs.

Through broad exposure to many areas of Supply Chain, you will acquire unique skills and develop an expansive network across the company to reach your potential. You will receive additional career development and support through the following opportunities provided to participants:

Mentor Program:

The candidate will be partnered with a dedicated mentor that will provide coaching and guidance throughout the program.

Professional Development:

The candidate will take advantage of professional development opportunities including:

  • Report out to business leadership at the end of each rotation detailing projects completed, skills obtained & lessons learned
  • Formal classroom training in areas such as project management, presentation skills, finance, lean techniques, negotiation, etc.
  • Product knowledge & applications

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering or another related discipline
  • While 6 months or more of related work or internship experience is a plus, it is not required
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Must be open to relocation in the United States
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment
